Seeing someone you’ve once known from the past on the worst times that you’re not confident with yourself is everyone’s nightmare. What more if it was your childhood sweetheart? A once pretty and popular kid, who got humbled down in appearance after years, is currently in a predicament of working under her childhood friend that she’s been avoiding.
The entire series flowed beautifully. It didn’t seem jarring at any point, and no useless side stories. It’s like the relationships of the leads are on the center stage, and we were given the front seat to watch how it progressively develops into deeper connections. The drama touches a very sensitive topic with the utmost care, in a way that people who were once not confident in their looks didn’t trigger any negative emotions while watching. Its take on one’s flaws and insecurities was really heartwarming, like we’ve been embraced by someone who truly understands what we’ve been going through. It’s a complete package with comedy, love story, and inspirational themes that conveys that we are all leading characters in our own lives, and if we take charge of our lives, we are capable of changing them for good.
Hard Pill to Swallow
If you were going to compare it to a book, then its cover is unappealing. It seems like any other book with a cliche plot and predictable ending. However, it also has its charm that you’ll only find once you decide to give it a chance. It may still have room for improvements, but you’ll still want to know what will happen next.
